This project was inspired by a gap in access to quality coaching — especially for those in regions where top-level mentorship is out of reach. The idea was simple: democratize sports training by making elite athletes more accessible to young or aspiring ones, digitally.
Aspiring athletes often struggle to find credible trainers who fit their sport, location, schedule, and budget. Meanwhile, professional athletes have few structured platforms to monetize their skills post-career. We aimed to solve both problems in one product..
I conducted market research through surveys and one-on-one interviews with local athletes and trainers. Many trainers expressed a need for a better platform to offer sessions, and aspiring athletes cited lack of access, transparency, and personalization as major blockers. Here is how I did it:
I conducted one-on-one interviews with 10 athletes aged 15–25 and 7 professional trainers from different sports (e.g., Golf, Lacrosse, Basketball). Key findings:
80% of athletes lacked consistent access to specialized training.
90% of trainers were interested in offering coaching but had no structured way to manage it online.
This confirmed the need for a two-sided marketplace built around personalization, scheduling, and trust.
